"We liked the company so
much, we bought it."

Your biggest fans usually turn out to be the ones that help you when you need it most. When the original founders decided it was time to take a step back from the company, two weekend warriors and food industry veterans jumped at the opportunity to get involved. Vowing to use the same traditional recipes and promoting a refreshed company philosophy - it has to taste great and be good for you – Alan and Jim became advocates and now work hard every day to make Elevate Me even better.

Here's our team:

Alan Maddox

Alan has been in the food business for thirty years. He started with McCain Foods and built a successful career before leaving as Director of International Sales responsible for 70 countries around the world. He joined the Sepp’s Food Group in the early 1990s, and was part of the management team that grew the company into one of the leading natural and organic frozen breakfast food manufacturers in North America. He was President when the company was sold in July 2010. Wanting to stay in the healthy lifestyle category he partnered with Jim to purchase Prosnack Natural Foods – the makers of Elevate Me - in January 2013. Alan enjoys life and enjoys sailing, skiing and staying healthy by running half marathons or doing the world-famous Grouse Grind - with hesitation, but nevertheless always finishing and feeling good.

jim pratt

Jim was an investment banker on Bay Street in Toronto before joining the Sepp’s Food Group in the early 1990s. Over the years he held various positions at Sepp’s ranging from President of one of the subsidiaries to Chief Financial Officer of the parent company and ultimately Chief Executive Officer. Partnering with Alan, he purchased Prosnack Natural Foods in January 2013. He is a former professional basketball player who still thinks he has game, and can sometimes be found participating in sprint triathlons and 10 km runs when he is not hiking the mountains or cycling the back roads of beautiful British Columbia.

kurt ellingson

It was Kurt’s mom who came up with the recipe for our first energy bar many years ago. Kurt played varsity volleyball at a junior college before transferring and graduating from the University of British Columbia. He formerly trained and competed in Whistler and across Canada as part of British Columbia's mogul ski team. He has been with Elevate Me for eight years, and is now a
dedicated tennis player who makes up for skill with enthusiasm and an extremely unorthodox but occasionally effective service style.
